‘In a village of La Mancha, the name of which I have no desire to call to mind, there lived not long since one of those gentlemen that keep a lance in the lance-rack, an old buckler, a lean hack, and a greyhound for coursing’.

Don Quixote of La Mancha is a universally popular classic of Spanish literature, well-known as its author, Miguel de Cervantes, soldier, novelist, poet and dramatist considered a symbolic figure in Spanish literature.

The Quixote, main character of the novel, as the story says, is a poor gentleman who becomes crazy after having read chivalry novels. Its madness reaches a point in which he starts believing he is a knight errant; a knight errant who lives many comic and odd adventures throughout the novel.

The Quixote is not the only symbolic character of the story. His loyal fellows Sancho Panza, who the Quixote considers his squire, and Rocinante, his lean horse, accompany him. Likewise, Dulcinea del Toboso, Quixote’s platonic crush, is also one of the most important characters of the novel.

This season Julià Travel presents a new guided tour with which you will be able to discover in great detail more things about the famous novel that was published for first time in 1605 and, at the same time, discover for yourself its scene.

If you want to visit Belmonte and its castle, Mota del Cuervo and its windmills against which the Quixote fights in one of his adventures, Toboso and its Museo Cervantino and, furthermore, visit a land of great wines and enjoy a tasting in a fantastic wine cellar, do not hesitate: Don Quixote Experience is waiting for you!
