Departure from Bilbao in the morning, we will head directly to La Rioja via highway. The route shows the mountainous landscapes until reaching the plateau with its forests of oak and beech.
The first stop will be in Haro, the wine capital of La Rioja, where we will visit CVNE, a century-old and emblematic winery in the area. We will take a guided tour of its essential spaces, including the barrel room, designed by the legendary architect Gustave Eiffel. We will pass through the underground cellars (cemetery) and enjoy a wine tasting.
After visiting the winery, we will take a guided walking tour of the historic centre of Haro, where we will visit the “Plaza de la Paz”. We will continue our journey through the Haro Station District, where the largest number of century-old wineries are located, before heading to the beautiful medieval town of Laguardia.
In Laguardia, we will take a walk through its picturesque narrow streets, as it is a famous village in the Rioja Alavesa for its Historical Monumental Site and its magnificent wineries. We will visit a small traditional winery where we will be able to learn about the winemaking process from a familiar perspective.
At the end of the visit of the winery, we will have free time for lunch, your guide will recommend you the best places to eat.
Finally, we will return to Bilbao, where we will arrive in the mid-afternoon.
